Music Educator
Karen at Musical Note Studio offers music and musicianship lessons teaching preschool age throughs. She has been teaching for over 20 some years and is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in Piano and performing/accompanying for over 30 years. She has degrees in Music, Business, and Mental Health Counseling.
Instruction includes the following depending on age and goals;
- Comprehensive instruction in technique, theory, and musicianship
- The curriculum encompasses, rhythm, sight-reading, technique, aural skills, transposition, music appreciation, music history, composition, improvisation, performance, and ensemble playing.
- Study of a variety of music from classical to contemporary
- Participation in Ensembles
- Opportunity to perform at the studio recitals
- Yamaha Conservatory Series Grand Piano, Lyon and Healy Pedal Harp, Dusty Strings Lever Harp.
- Group performance and theory classes (for school age students)
- Participation in Lewis County Music Teacher Association (LCMTA) Play-a-thon and Playoffs
- Participation in LCMTA Ribbon Festival/Musicianship Exams and Adjudications
